Dr Oz has come up with another exciting natural way for us to lose weight, lower our blood pressure and balance sugar and it is cheap! This new discovery is white mulberry!
Dr. Oz said the white mulberry fights high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart disease because they are rich in antioxidants (including resveratrol), fiber and protein. They taste like figs and have a consistency like raisins but some say it also has a bit of a nutty taste.
White mulberries are also high in vitamins C and B and low in sugar. One-third of a cup of white mulberries contains four grams of protein and 20 percent of your daily fiber needs.
Dr. Oz also said white mulberries promotes weight loss by inhibiting the digestion of sugar, so sugar gets excreted instead of being absorbed into the bloodstream which will not only protect your pancreas but will help promote weight loss.
Studies show that a compound in the leaves of white mulberries, called 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), prevents spikes in blood sugar and balances it effectively.
You can enjoy white mulberries as dried fruit or in tea. Dr. Oz said drinking white-mulberry tea with your meals helps control blood sugar and can ward off diabetes. "I love when food can cure us!" he said.
