Thai Massage Anyone?

Recently a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go get Thai massages with her. She as going to invite a few people to her house and have the Therapist do the massages at her home. Since I had never had one so I thought I would look into what makes it different than other massages.

My friend is an Acupuncturist and swears that Thai massages are the best. Now after watching this video, I can see it is a prefrence thing. I myself think this would be painful. So I would probably not want to have one. Take a look at the video and see what you think.

This is a common misperception about Thai massage. Thai massage is not necessarily uncomfortable at all. It totally depends upon the practitioner, how they are trained. their goals, and so on. Native Thais tend to be more aggressive with the stretches because there is a belief that this is therapeutic (this is obviously a generalization though). At my school ( http://www.thaibodywork.com ) we train people to be sensitive to the client and only work within their capabilities. Most people find it to be a wonderful, exhilirating treatment.
